The world of entrepreneurship always intrigued me.
I was raised by two parents who were entrepreneurs, and I found it fascinating. So when I graduated from college, I was honestly unsure what I wanted to do. My husband said, “Your parents have always been successful and hardworking. What do you think about taking what they’ve done in a different direction?”
And I loved that idea, and he was willing to do that with me.
And so we began our first venture together.
And we went from two to three of us to 10 to 20 of us, and grew that company to around 120 people, headquartered in Roanoke, Virginia. It was a big success.
So when we were researching other brands and e-commerce in general, customer service kept coming up as a huge frustration. It seemed like something other companies were doing just to shuffle people, get them through the door, answer their questions, and move on to the next.
